Sky: Details emerge of the final contract offer Milan put forward to Donnarumma

By Oliver Fisher -

Some details have emerged regarding the final offer that AC Milan made to Gianluigi Donnarumma before deciding to sign Mike Maignan.

All major sources are reporting that Milan are close to announcing the signing of Mike Maignan from Lille who seems set to become the club’s new number one, with Donnarumma’s contract expiring at the end of next month and everything pointing towards him leaving Milan after nine years.

According to Sky (via MilanNews), Milan’s last offer to Gigio Donnarumma was a two-year deal worth €7m net per season plus €1m in bonuses, with a €20m release clause in the event of non-qualification in the Champions League. The parties never got to talk about Mino Raiola’s commission because the agent continued to demand €12m per year for his client.

A month ago, Milan realised that the road to Gigio’s signature was really uphill and therefore turned to Mike Maignan, securing him on what looks like being a five-year deal and a €13m transfer fee.

  1. Milan Champions League winner team 2007
    1) Kaka 6 million euros
    2) Dida 4 million euros
    3) Kaladze 4 million euros
    4) Nesta 4 million euros
    5) Gattuso 4 million euros
    6) Seedorf 4 million euros
    7) Pirlo 4 million euros
    8) Inzaghi 4 million euros
    9) Ronaldo 4 millon euros
    10) Ambrosini 3.5 million euros
    11) Maldini (38-39 years) 2 million euros

    1. You would have to account for inflation though, but then you should also have to consider the impact covid had on the game… So I would say even today those numbers would be spot on.

      1. Was more of how close the first 11 was. now Theo Hernández gets 1.5 million euros, Simon Kjær 1.2, Gabbia and Kalulu 0.6 million euros to say his defenders next year. Tomori who knows how much if he stays. So paying the goalkeeper 10-12 million is just suicide teamwide.

  2. Milan fans need to chill. Gigio is not a monster here…he is easily top 5 best goalkeepers in the world, but he is not making anywhere close to his value. He has been very loyal to AC Milan, and he has never come out to complain about anything. He has allowed his agent to do the negotiating, which is the right thing to do.
Anyway before you judge Gigio, here is a list of the top 10 earners of goalkeepers. Read it and be honest with yourself…do all these guys deserve to be making this much more than Gigio?

David De Gea – £375,000 per week
Jan Oblak – £350,000 per week
Keylor Navas – £328,330 per week
Sergio Rico – £282,728 per week
Manuel Neuer – £259,000 per week
Thibaut Courtois – £150,000 per week
Kepa Arrizabalaga – £150,000 per week
Alisson Becker – £150,000 per week
Kasper Schmeichel – £130,000 per week
Wojciech Szczesny – £130,000 per week

    1. His last contract renewal, his older brother was imposed on us as part of the deal. Dollarumma is not bigger than the club. The club went above their salary cap to please him, but greed will not let him.

  3. according to salarysport.com, Gio’s 2021 salary is £195,000 per week. He has never win any titles, played in Champions League, nor in anyway has any meaningful advertising celebrity commercial value outside of pitch.

  4. ….and Gigio’s grossed up salary offer from the Rossoneri (before tax and including bonus) would have put him on almost £308,000.00 per week (4th highest paid) at the age of 22. Not bad really – also in circumstances where the player has always said that he’s been (and is) a Rossonero fan since he was a child. No loyalty.

  5. You talk about Donnarumma as if he were an ordinary goalkeeper. Donnarumma is number 1 in the world and it is normal for an agent to ask for the highest salary, but I know that Donnarumma would agree and will agree to a salary of 8 million, but at the moment it is the policy of an Eliot organization that wants to make money on Donnarumma. money we FANS ARE NOT HERE TO DISCUSS NUMBERS, we are here to suggest problems in the club if a player does not play well and to give support .. especially now Donnarummi should be given support because he is a young and very good goalkeeper who is many but many times Milan saved from losing the game. Donnarummi needs the support of the fans and the club needs to be criticized because he wants to buy cheap football players and later get rid of them no matter in what way. Isn’t it clear to you that they want to drive Milan’s child away? for Milan and gave a real example a million times how to play for Milan. The club and the management are bad and if they continue like this, the next ones to leave are Hernandez, Kesie, Benaser, and others … they will all want a new contract with more than vca and we need to support the club because they will drive them away just because they want a normal amount for their services they provide.

    1. Who made Dollarumma number in the world? What has he won. He is so ungrateful. At a young age he was made vice captain and is paid 6m and extra 1m to his brother. What else should the club do. Is he the only player in the team? People who run for 90mins earns lesser than him.
