Some details have emerged regarding the final offer that AC Milan made to Gianluigi Donnarumma before deciding to sign Mike Maignan.
All major sources are reporting that Milan are close to announcing the signing of Mike Maignan from Lille who seems set to become the club’s new number one, with Donnarumma’s contract expiring at the end of next month and everything pointing towards him leaving Milan after nine years.
According to Sky (via MilanNews), Milan’s last offer to Gigio Donnarumma was a two-year deal worth €7m net per season plus €1m in bonuses, with a €20m release clause in the event of non-qualification in the Champions League. The parties never got to talk about Mino Raiola’s commission because the agent continued to demand €12m per year for his client.
A month ago, Milan realised that the road to Gigio’s signature was really uphill and therefore turned to Mike Maignan, securing him on what looks like being a five-year deal and a €13m transfer fee.
