Sky: Donnarumma in heated exchange with fans at Milanello – ultimatum issues amid tense climate

By Oliver Fisher -

A group of AC Milan fans spoke with Gianluigi Donnarumma this morning at Milanello and some harsh words were exchanged, a report claims.

With two months left until his contract expires and rumours of talks with Juventus ongoing, the Donnarumma renewal situation has descended into a soap opera that continues to dominate the headlines amid a tense situation on the pitch.

According to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), just before lunch a delegation of organised fan groups gathered outside Milanello and asked for a discussion with Donnarumma. Despite having refused, even for reasons of public order, he went out and met this delegation of fans.

Strong words were exchanged, and Donnarumma was even asked not to take the field against Juventus in case of non-renewal by next Saturday. It is a request that could obviously never be accepted either by the player or by Milan, but the climate is increasingly tense.

  1. These ultras are idiots. They are pushing him to the exit door. Leave him alone and let him focus on these remaining games. Raiola (although I despise him) is just doing his job as an agent. You drum up interest to increase the value of his client there is nothing wrong with that. Management must accept blame for letting this situation get to where it is today. We didn’t lock down our most prized asset to a long term deal. Scandalous. Should have never gotten to this point. Sczezny makes 7M a season. Donarumma is 21? Makes same? Market dictates the price. Not the fans. Sign him to 10M season on long term deal and if we need to sell him down the road in a few seasons we will get a sizable transfer fee. But we cannot let him leave for nothing. Ultras leave him alone. If he ultimately leaves for Juve at end of season I’m sure you will make his life in Milan miserable lol. But until then he’s a Milanista and we must try to get him to re-sign at all costs Rathre than let him leave for nothing.

    1. Agreed. How do these crazy fans expect players to do well amidst this chaos. I have had thoughts about this situation too, but we have no choice other than to trust his honor. I can’t fathom the thought that he would play less than his best, even if it puts his new team at a disadvantage. If we want to keep him then show him that Milanistas support him. Why would he turn down a club like Juve for 12m a year when his own fans are calling him Dollaruma?! Disgusting. The same fans that want the “banter era” to be over are the ones to sabotage their own team. The idea that no player is bigger than the club, while it’s partly true, could also make a player think he is not valued.
