The pressure is growing on AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella following another defeat and another poor performance away from home.
The Rossoneri were thoroughly outfought on Sunday lunchtime at the Marassi, losing 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Duvan Zapata and Ricky Alvarez.
According to Peppe Di Stefano of Sky Sport 24, Milan board members Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli arrived in Milanello this morning at 10am and there was a confrontation between the pair and Montella.
Immediately after the workout, there may also be a meeting with the team. Of course, in the face to face, they discussed yesterday’s defeat against Sampdoria and the attitude of the team.
Fassone blasted the team for their defeat in his post-match comments yesterday, perhaps suggesting patience is already wearing thin.
“Milan is stronger than Sampdoria and should have approached the game differently,” the Rossoneri CEO stated.
“We did not like the attitude today. We had some alarm bells. I came out to speak because these defeats should not be considered as a routine. Milan should not lose against opponents that are inferior to us.”
