Sky: Fonseca asks Milan for Abraham – why Jovic and Tomori are implicated

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still thinking about the idea of signing another striker after Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham of AS Roma is a name that has come up again.

According to the latest from Sky, the Abraham idea remains alive for Milan even if there has been no contact between the two clubs, because the English centre-forward is a request from Paulo Fonseca.

The Portuguese coach considers him to be the first name on the list if the Rossoneri management were to decide to take another centre forward in addition to Morata, who signed on a four-year deal earlier this month.

Abraham has given his approval to the idea of joining Milan and at the moment he is not considering Premier League teams that have knocked on his door like Everton and West Ham United, because he only wants to wait for the Rossoneri.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to reach an agreement, with Milan having proposed including Daniel Maldini and Luka Jovic in the deal, but the Serbian has not convinced Daniele De Rossi while the Italian is heading for Monza.

The friendship between Abraham and Fikayo Tomori should not be underestimated either. The two have known each other since their time in the Chelsea youth team and always go on holiday together.

  1. Instead of wasting cash on Abraham, it’s better we retain Jovic, in my opinion he did well as a back up to Giroud last season and he would also do ok as a back up to Morata. Moreover Abraham has glass for legs, he spends at least 3.5 months being sidelined with injuries every season since his rise into top level football.

  2. Couldnt we just Jonas Wind. He’s cheaper salary and transfer wise. Do we really want a 4.5M€ sub?

Even if Tammy gets around 2k min game time it will be sporadic, he wont have that much of an effect. Not a lot of players do, as subs. Fonseca is a lot like pioli in this regard, consistent first eleven and no way in hell Tammy could bench Morata

      1. Sure but when was morata injured last time? Long term?

If we’re doing what ifs, what if morata and tammy get injured? We needs a 3rd ST that can jump in. Let’s get Tammy and Wind. Right?

        Sounds silly imao

        1. excellent point. But i cant blame R for his comment. Milan’s strategy for a while has been targeting great players who have been inconsistent because of injuries. That’s why they are cheaper.
Some work out ( Puli, RLC, Tomori) , Some dont lol. It’s a habit, hehehe we buy injury prone players, it’s crazy to think we got a guy who barely gets injured.

  3. Meanwhile Jonathan David is in his final year. With Lille indebted to us for the Leao fiasco, I think we can seal the deal with a 25M offer. With Pavlovic deal done, we now only need ST and upgrading both Adli and Pobega (swap+15M for Ricci) to finish a solid mercato, so why are we dragging this steal?

In: Morata, Pavlovic, Fofana, Ricci, J.David
Out: Giroud, Kjaer, Pobega, Adli, Jovic

  4. As I said in the previous Tammy’s news, it’d be a fool kind of move if we pay him for any amount of cent as it’ll ‘help’ ’em to get the striker of our target in Dovbyk.

The most logical thing that we can do if we really want to make it happen is with loan w/ option to buy, and that with a minimum fee and Roma pay his wage.

    1. If you don’t know to well the ties between these 2 clubs, they are friends of ours, they always “bent” and always will when we need the most…if its going to happen is with a certain motive,to repay their”bent”

  5. While the previous season (and the one before it) was dissapointing in many regards, constantly changing the players and the teams will only bring unbalance and will not allow the players time to settle and thus, to play at their best possibilities.
At the conclusion of the last season, it was more or less clear that our team needed only “few” upgrades in certain key positions which were the striking position (ST) since we were losing our main striker in Giroud and the defensive midfield (DM) position since, we didn’t have any player who can play in that position since the departure of Kessie. Now it could be understood that with our horrible defensive performance+the departure of Kjaer, Simic and perhaps now Thiaw, and central defender (CB) would be needed.
Yet, we seem to have once again got the “new shiny object” syndrome. We already got a striker, a defender, what we need the most is a defensive midfielder, yet here we are targerting also an attacking midfielder and ANOTHER striker.
Again too many changes in one window is not good for the team.

    1. This! (Maldini’s Heir would be happy with your post lol 😂).
We really don’t need a major overhaul once more..it’s like you said a DM. Been preaching since 22 and before. We got the striker in Morata. If he can do what Giroud did that’s perfect as our attack is great (2nd last year). And then a CB to replace outgoings.
This management seem to shoot themselves in the foot everytime. We have one of the best contributions from attacking subs that’s the envy to most teams. Yet we’re looking to break that up somehow 🤷‍♂️

  6. My word, let’s just stockpile mediocrity that is cheap!

I am looking forward to hearing the daft explanations as to why this is a good idea!

So we pay 17m for Tammy and 13 for Morata= 30m

Roma pay 32m Dovbyk after signing Soule, am I having a nightmare?

Somebody save us from these people!

    1. I agree with you, its better to spend 30-40 million on two solid targets rather than chase 4, 15-20 million average players

  7. I have a crazy theory, well maybe not that crazy and it’s that Fonseca wants Tammy but maybe he didn’t request Morata. I have a hunch that Morata was an opportunity signing (Furlani couldn’t resist the ol’ cheap release clause for value). It’s probably why we’re being linked to another striker in Abraham still. I also have a feeling that he want Emerson too, specifically, hence the persistent rumors
