Sky: Former Milan player set to start over Brozovic in midfield for Inter

By Euan Burns -

Former AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is expected to start at the base of Inter’s midfield on Wednesday instead of Marcelo Brozovic, a report claims.

As has been reported by Sky Sport (via Milan News), the Turkish midfielder who used to be a key player for the Rossoneri is likely to be given a chance to inflict pain on his old team.

Calhanoglu left Milan under a dark cloud and the relationship between him and the Milan fans is bad. He has made various comments since joining Inter that have added further fuel to that fire and he will be determined to make the difference in the EuroDerby.

It shows how well he has played in Marcelo Brozovic’s absence that Inzaghi is likely to place Brozovic on the bench so that Calhanoglu can play in the middle of the three, presumably with Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on either side of him.
