Sky: Gazidis wants to find a way for Rangnick, Maldini and Pioli to work together at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis appears determined for there not to be a complete and total overhaul at the club this summer.

We reported via our correspondent Vito Angele last month that Rangnick will indeed agree a role as manager – that is the double responsibility of head coach and the man in charge of the transfer market.

Then, Sky Italia confirmed on Monday that Rangnick has already signed a deal with Milan and CEO Ivan Gazidis has informed Maldini of the arrival of the German.

According to what Sky added in their Monday night show (via MilanNews), Gazidis’ dream is to have Maldini and Rangnick work together somehow. He does not want to weaken the position of the former club captain and instead he would occupy the role of Chief Football Officer – the one vacated after Boban’s sacking.

It is possible though that Maldini will decline this proposal and say he does not want to work with German, as he refused to even speak to him when Gazidis wanted him at Milan after Giampaolo’s sacking.

Moreover, Sky add that Gazidis wants Stefano Pioli and Rangnick to talk to try to find a formula to make them work together, because Milan hold Pioli in high esteem for his work and his attitude.
