Sky Germany: Bayern retain interest in Milan star who is open to the move

By Euan Burns -

Bayern Munich are still very interested in signing Theo Hernandez from AC Milan and the French defender is interested in the move if an offer were to arrive.

As reported by Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany on X, the French left-back is viewed by Bayern as the ideal replacement for Alphonso Davies should the Canadian depart.

Davies has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid as they want to replace Ferland Mendy, so Bayern’s interest in Hernandez has been longstanding.

It would present an opportunity for the Milan star to play alongside his brother, Lucas Hernandez. Despite Bayern not currently having a new coach, Hernandez is said to be interested in the idea.

That being said, there is no agreement between Hernandez and Bayern on terms, and there is no agreement between Milan and Bayern for the player.

There has also not been an offer from Real Madrid for Davies, so there is certainly no imminent risk of Milan losing one of their best players. if Real Madrid make a move for Davies, it could set off a fast chain of events, though.

Losing Hernandez would be a big sporting blow but he would also fetch a very big transfer fee that can be reinvested.

  1. “It would present an opportunity for the Milan star to play alongside his brother, Lucas Hernandez.”

So, you guys forgot that Lucas is at PSG on like a five-year deal? But yet you want people to take these articles seriously. 🤦

  2. Later or sooner Theo will get tired of trophy-less seasons and will want to upgrade.

Maignan is already there. Leao will also eventually leave.

The money that comes in will presumably will be quite a number. But without a plan to reinvest that money it will have been for nothing.

So at some point we need to start getting comfortable with the idea of those three departing.

  3. Sell him! I never liked players who are formidable once a month, very bad twice a month and OK once a month. Maldini for instance was 75% of the matches excellent. So, take the money and invest in more serious players.

  4. I wouldn’t be surprised, he is about to enter his prime and why would he want to go trophyless with our ambition less management

    1. Do you not understand the meaning of the word ambition? Over €100 million invested on new players and €20 million on land for a new stadium and zero debt.

      1. They don’t care about winning , all they want is to sell Milan for a high price, that is why they want to build a stadium

  5. Fonseca should practice his “star selling look away” look in the mirror if he wants to stay for long time.

Maybe also a “wow a cheap no name moneyball replacement kind of excited” look.

    Just a hint.

    1. You don’t understand the meaning of the word cheap. €100+ million isn’t cheap nor is the singing of established internationals the moneyball approach. One player sold for a huge profit isn’t evidence of a trend being established. Your takes are utterly dreadful, tinged in your anti American racism.

    2. Selling tonali making ACM dodge the bullet. Tonali value now dropped drastically due to banned till august, you dont want to use double pivot bennacer – krunic or adili – krunic ( if benna injured & tonali banned in ACM ) for whole season that make ACM mediocre and finish outside top 6 compete with roma, napoli ,fiorentina for UEL spot. Selling Theo will weaken the project if the rumour true that making fans in italy mocking and more hating Redbird especially if they serious hiring fonseca as coach , i dont think they will do stupid by selling theo unless theo himself asking to leave

  6. Better to sell Bennacer and Tomori. Keep Theo and Leao.
I really like Maignan but he is injured too much and it might be the one that we can sell for a big sum as he is very good when fit and a lot of teams have seen his highest level.

So Maignan, Bennacer and Tomori can bring enough money for us to do something in the market.

  7. As an AI language model, I am not aware of any rubbish or deceptive
It is time for me to focus solely on the AC Milan official website and Fabrizio Romano. I don’t understand why you publish irrelevant content almost every day just to generate clicks and waste someone’s precious time. Is it because you want to be the first to report? The rumored transfer would provide a chance for the Milan star to play alongside his brother, Lucas Hernandez.
    Rubbish!

  8. Theo is irreplaceable. A player in his position, at his level, with his combination of skillsets cannot be bought again. We were lucky to get him. Without demonstrating an initiative to overtake Inter and compete in Europe, it is a matter of time before he requests a transfer, especially if they refuse to pay him a salary that reflects his market value. You can’t keep the best by nit paying them fairly and refusing to surround them with a top level team.

    1. I think he won’t be here in two seasons, next one will be his last because this ownership have shown they have no intent to increase the level of the squad.

      1. They spent over €100 million and improved the squad, what on Earth are you talking about? Are you confusing Milan with Genoa?!?

  9. Yes we already have Italian squad without a single Milan name, lets make a team with no names in any national team now. Why not! Moneyball!
