Sky Germany: ‘Decision is imminent’ – what filters on Milan target Ouedraogo

AC Milan should soon find out if they have won the race to sign Assan Ouedraogo from Schalke 04, at least according to a report from his home country.

Milan have been linked with the midfielder for two years and it was reported one week ago that they recently made contact with his representatives again to see if a move could be on the cards in the near future.

Inter, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen were also credited with interest by the report, and the option of staying in Germany was not ruled out either.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Bayern are still wanting to sign Ouedraogo despite the uncertainty over their future. The 17-year-old has a contract offer from the Bavarians on the table until 2029.

The problem from the player’s perspective is that Bayern have not found a new coach yet and therefore he does not know how much he would feature in the plans for the immediate future.

Plettenberg states: “Ouedraogo wouldn’t have certainty that the new coach would want him if he were to accept at this time. That makes it difficult.”

Other clubs are continuing to pursue him as well, with Leipzig, Frankfurt, Atalanta, Roma and Newcastle mentioned by the journalist.

A ‘decision is imminent’ because the player ‘wants clarity at the beginning of May’. Ouedraogo has not yet accepted or rejected anyone.
