AC Milan were leaking at the back throughout the entire 2023-24 season and one of the priorities this summer is t reinforce the department. According to a report, the Rossoneri could make a move for the soon-to-be free agent Mats Hummels.

In the end, due to the 3-3 draw against Salernitana in the final round, Milan conceded a whopping 49 goals just in Serie A. This is only the third time in the 21st century that this has happened, matching the 2013-14 tally and getting one goal away from 2024-15 (50).

Milan could use a reinforcement, in other words, and Sky Germany reports that they have expressed an interest in the veteran Mats Hummels. His contract with Borussia Dortmund will expire at the end of the season and he looks set to leave the club on a free transfer.

The 35-year-old is currently gearing up for the big Champions League final against Real Madrid but after that, he will surely start thinking about his future. Despite his age, he has shown his class this season, also playing very well against Milan in the game at San Siro.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that it’s set to be a busy summer for the Rossoneri, which also means there likely will be a lot of targets.
