Sky Germany: Milan in six-team race for Ouédraogo – what filters on his future

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s interest in signing Assan Ouedraogo has been confirmed by a reliable source in Germany, but there is no shortage of competition.

According to what is being reported by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Milan have been joined by Inter and Juventus in the race to sign Ouedraogo, but all three clubs are focused on a transfer in the January window.

However, Plettenberg adds that the 17-year-old definitely does not want to leave Schalke 04 in the winter and instead wants to stay at least until next summer, because he wants to try help them surge up the 2. Bundesliga table.

A transfer in summer 2024 is possible though, and Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are pushing. Ouedraogo suffered a syndesmosis ligament problem in his right foot and he wants to return in January.

The teenager – who can play as a box-to-box midfielder or in a deeper-lying role – has amassed 11 league appearances this season with one goal and one assist.
