Sky Germany: Milan to meet Schalke this week over starlet with €20m clause

The transfer window does not reopen for another two and a half months but it seems the AC Milan management are getting future moves lined up in advance.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Milan have the ‘most concrete’ interest in signing Assan Ouédraogo from Schalke 04, having held an interest in signing him last summer.

Milan officials want to meet their Schalke counterparts as early as this week in order to try and begin negotiations over the 17-year-old, having not been put off by their failed attempt to land him last summer.

The journalist goes on to add that Ouédraogo – who plays predominantly as a box-to-box midfielder – has a release clause of €20m that is valid for teams outside of Germany.

Ouédraogo has played nine times in the 2. Bundesliga this season for Schalke, scoring one goal, and he could follow the path of Malick Thiaw who made the move from Gelsenkirchen to the Rossoneri.
