AC Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Assan Ouedraogo of Schalke 04 in recent weeks, but it seems as though they have fallen behind in the race.
It has been reported all throughout November that Milan want to try and beat the competition to sign Ouédraogo, who is the latest talent to come through at Schalke, with whom he is a starter in the 2. Bundesliga.
The 17-year-old picked up an injury at the ongoing Under 17 World Cup in Indonesia which is not a straightforward one. He suffered a rupture of the anterior syndesmotic ligament and will be out of action for at least a couple of months, with his return to the field scheduled for the second half of January.
According to what Florian Pletterberg of Sky Germany is reporting, this hasn’t put any clubs off. He stated that a first meeting with the player’s entourage and FC Bayern took place in the last days and it was a ‘positive’ one.
Bayern‘s idea now is to put Ouédraogo’s directly in the first team squad without an initial loan move. Bayern, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have the best chance to sign the teenager at this stage, which means the idea of a move to Italy seems to be fading fast.
He is such a talented player, sadly we don’t have a pull like Bayern.
Let’s try to get some talented DM now.
Wait, you mean the supertalent guy that Milan was asking a discount on his 11M release clause? No wonder, I really thought being cheap will show him how much we believe in him and want him. You can’t be such a clown, when there are literally 5-10 clubs ready to pay the clause and get him…
If they went in 20 days ago, paid the clause and offered him a contract, maybe it would be different. But haggling for a few M gets you what you deserve.
