Sky Germany: Terzic ‘ready for a new job’ and being ‘considered by AC Milan’

AC Milan still consider Edin Terzic to be a candidate to become their new head coach if things turn sour under Paulo Fonseca, according to a report.

There continues to be rumblings regarding the idea that Milan are preparing for the idea of potentially having to sack Fonseca if he does not manage to win more consistently, given that so far the Rossoneri are one four wins out of 10 to begin the new campaign.

Last month, when the team were also in a difficult phase, MilanNews reported that Zlatan Ibrahimovic had met with Terzic to discuss the possibility of taking over. He has been out of work since being let go by Borussia Dortmund in the summer, who he guided to the Champions League final.

According to Patrick Berger of Sky Germany, Terzic will make his comeback on the sidelines today as a TV expert/guest at the Santiago Bernabéu where Dortmund will take on Real Madrid in a rematch of the final a few months ago.

However, he will not be standing at the same table as the current BVB boss Nuri Sahin and their director Matthias Sammer, but will analyse the game separately. Berger adds that Terzic is ‘ready for a new job and has recently watched a lot of games in England and Italy’.

The 41-year-old is being ‘considered by AC Milan and West Ham, among others’ and he is a name to look out for should either club take the plunge and sack Fonseca or Lopetegui.

  1. hell nah… after missing out on Klopp and Tuchel (which let’s be honest we would never get them), the only real choices are Sarri, Xavi, and Segio Conseicao…

    1. You are right, we should at least get some of those last three. But i don’t think Klopp is gone too. He is taking a one year brake, so he will prob be avaliable in the summer. If Milan get in contacts with him early on they might convince him to come. Of course he would want a bit better budget than just 20mil Chelsea rejects.

  2. Nonsense. Fonseca should be given a fair chance and we should evaluate his position after this season. He already beat Inter and it would have been convincingly if the players finishing was better.

Inzaghi didn’t do well in his first season at Inter after taking over from Conte and getting a winning scudetto team only to lose the scudetto to Milan on the last day and then lose the scudetto again to Napoli the following season before winning it last season with Inter.

In other words, it took Inzaghi 3 seasons to the win the scudetto after he inherited a scudetto winning Inter team.

Therefore Fonseca is going nowhere soon. If he does get sacked then the entire Milan management should get sacked with him.

Terzic is also not the answer. Losing the Bundesliga to Bayern Munich on the last day was criminal because he couldn’t even motivate his Dortmund team across the finishing line.

If Fonseca doesn’t work out then it’s better we get Mark van Bommel to replace him since this management and ownership will not invest in a top tier coach.

  3. Firing Fonseca to hire Terzic does not look like a great idea. The safest options are to either give Fonseca time or hire a Serie A-proven coach.
