Sky: ‘Long confrontation’ possible – training begins late with Ibrahimovic present

Following AC Milan’s defeat to Liverpool, there is no time to mentally or physically rest with the Derby della Madonnina awaiting them on Sunday evening.

Training took place as normal today at Milanello, and as Sky (via Milan Press) reports everyone was present. This includes Mike Maignan who trained with the group earlier, rather than taking part in an injury training programme.

Also included in everyone was Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the report suggests that training began later than originally scheduled. With this, there has been suggestions that a ‘long confrontation’ between him and the squad took place, delaying training.

It comes at a time where Ibrahimovic is the target of many criticisms, from the squad, to his choice of manager, even to how he communicates with the media – something which was pointed out earlier in the week.

Of course, the Swede is still new to the job, and is still learning the responsibilities of his new role, but there has to be some progress made by him, and his next few decisions are vital for the future of the club.

With Paulo Fonseca’s job on the line, he must take accountability for a mistake in appointment should a decision be made to move forward away from the Portuguese head coach.

  1. Appoint Ibrahimovic as a coach he got good influence on players, our players lack confidence don’t wait any longer, fonseca out ibra in please. We tired of being defeated

  2. During preseason, they were boldly making claims about the team being complete and how fonseca have got the team moving in the right direction. I am really looking forward to the Derby, I hope inter destroy us.

    1. What a great fan you are… I’m guessing the fans, filling San Siro in the 80s when we were in B, were cheering for the away team all the time.

  3. I don’t understand this. When we were looking for a manager it was said ibra wanted van bommel or de zerbi and the rest of management settled for fonseca. So why is it now ibrahimovic to be blamed for bringing fonseca in?

      1. I don’t remember that. I remember him wanting van bommel, Conte and de zerbi while the ownership had said no them. So Ya, after all that maybe he agreed to fonseca but he was never first choice

  4. Ibra is disaster at this role, and his character is not helping. Everybody that participated in bringing Fonseca, Emerson.. must be sacked.
If Maldini paid the price for CDK then the clowns that made those decisions must be sacked immediately.

  5. Ibra had no idea of coaching, he didn’t have a licensed for coaching. Beside they are still good coaches out there who can turn things around. We got xavi. Jumil man-City assistant. Edin, Thomas etc. but I prefer this Man city assistant cos they got good style of play. He can also grown our futuro by bringing out the best of telent from them. I believe we can concert serie A with a good style of play from Jumil

  6. Is Ibra even the right person to have these conversations with the players??? His ego is probably as big of a culprit to our terrible start.

Lions…. Kittens…. boss….. Clearly inexperienced. Can you imagine Paolo talking like that? hahaha
