Sky: Ibrahimovic and Moncada head to Rennes with Milan squad – Scaroni and Furlani don’t

By Euan Burns -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Geoffrey Moncada are travelling to France with the AC Milan squad for the Europa League match against Stade Rennes, but they are not joined by Giorgio Furlani and Paolo Scaroni.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia (via Milan News), two of Milan’s most important executives will be in France cheering the team on but diary commitments mean that owner Gerry Cardinale, CEO Furlani and president Scaroni cannot make the trip.

Cardinale and Furlani are going to be on a business trip together elsewhere and cannot fit the game into the calendar, whilst Scaroni is expected to be at Palazzo Marino on Thursday for a meeting with Milan mayor Giuseppe Sala about the San Siro regeneration project.

There will also be an Inter representative at that meeting, likely to be corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello. Sala hopes to convince the clubs to stay at San Siro and help the regeneration, but there is not thought to be much interest.

Milan are currently 3-0 up in their Europa League knockout round playoff tie against Rennes, having comfortably won the first leg at San Siro.

They just need a professional performance in France to ensure a place in the round of 16 proper.
