There have been claims that AC Milan may postpone their attempt for Samuele Ricci until the summer, but that may not be the case…
The big targets for Milan in the January mercato is another midfielder and an attacker, and there are two dream investments it seems. Going forward, Marcus Rashford is the heavily rumoured addition, with the Englishman reportedly willing to take a wage cut to sign for the Rossoneri.
In midfield, the market is a bit more open. Names have flown about all season, but it seems the club are looking to make a move for Reda Belahyane from Hellas Verona, despite claims that Samuele Ricci would be targeted mid-season.
Reports in recent days have all suggested that the attempt would be postponed until the summer, but Peppe di Stefano, the Sky journalist, has suggested otherwise when speaking to Carlo Pellegatti on his YouTube channel.
“I believe that Milan will take a talented forward, a starter. I am also convinced that Milan will not stop (eventually) at Rashford, but I believe they will try until the end to bring the signing of Ricci forward to January.”
With Torino making an attempt for Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei, the idea of Ricci arriving in the middle of the season may not be too far-fetched.
Ricci, Rashford, Nkunku would be something I would never even expect these baboons to ever come up with…
hope they surprise us all…
I think Rashford is very likely and Okafor to Leipzig also seems realistic. Riccy could possibly be a feasible option; the rumors also seem credible here. However, I was thinking more about a summer move in his case. Nkunku seems unrealistic to me, especially due to his salary, and there are no rumors about him either. I also believe we are well-covered in the forward position with Morata, Abraham, Camarda, and Jovic. It also appears that the right-back position will remain as it is, with Emerson and Calabria…
Those 4 strikers you name have a total of 6 league goals between them and we are half way through the season. That would be a mediocre return for 1 striker
That depicts only partially the picture. Considering goals + assists in all competitions as goal participations (an assist is often as good as scoring a goal, given that the goal happens, just tapped in by someone else after you create it), Abraham has 9 and Morata 6.
I do agree that they haven’t been very prolific, especially Morata but a total of 15 is not that bad. Tammy has done well with 9 goal participations with limited minutes. His goal participation per minute played is high.
Morata however while less prolific, has helped in other ways, effectively as a CAM.
Jovic did well last season as a supersub but hasn’t been used this season, and has had long injury and a surgery. We’ll see how he does after being fully recovered, health-wise. I’m curious to see what Conceição will do of him. Maybe he will restart contributing as a late supersub.
Camarda had a gorgeous goal called back due to a hairline offside, which didn’t even confer to him an advantage, despite his youth and despite his very limited minutes. It’s not easy for a 16-year-old to perform well against adult defenders but obviously Camarda has enormous potential.
That’s a lot of explaining to deflect from a simple fact : We are lacking in the striker position.
Camarda is too young and should be allowed to grow without pressure, playing the odd minutes here and there.
Morata has done below expectations, even though not much was expected from him.
Abraham is a clumsy fool who usually can’t put the ball in the net from 6 yards out.
And forget about Jovic.
It’s not about numbers and names, but quality. A club like Milan deserve much, much better.
What you say is true.
However, stats show we are 8th in the league.
Our strikers have scored 6, it’s a problem.
League stats are the only fair comparison imo. As cup competitions can skew things depending on how far you get and who you play etc
Rashford, Ricci, Lorenzo Lucca and we would be good.
I would replace Rashford with Casadei 🙂
I’m not sure Milan need some more midfielder like Ricci. The squad good enough so we only to wait some magic from the coach.
Where Milan will put Ricci on starting 11 ? Change musah or Puli or reijnders ?? Milan no need more midfielder, Milan need prolific goal scorer. One hit one goal
