Sky journalist describes ‘battle atmosphere’ at Milanello ahead of UCL decider

Milan are currently gearing up for what will be the most important game of the season, facing Atalanta away from home. It will be a very tough game for Stefano Pioli’s men, who need the win for Champions League.

After the Cagliari draw, there was great disappointment among the fans and players, but the latter now have a chance at redeeming themselves. Atalanta have already secured their top-four finish and this could perhaps play in their favour.

Speaking live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Peppe Di Stefano spoke about the atmosphere at the training ground Milanello, where the Rossoneri had their final training session today. The situation might not be serene, but that isn’t necessarily bad.

“I can assure you that the atmosphere is anything but peaceful. But I say it in a positive sense, there is a battle atmosphere, with the desire to rewrite history, because Milan haven’t been in the Champions League for 8 years. It would be a joke not to go there after a sitting top four for 37 rounds and many of them in first place,” he stated.

The game is scheduled for 20:45 CEST and the Rossoneri will be looking to claim all three points, without thinking of any potential favours from Bologna and Hellas Verona. Hopefully, they will get the job done against the Bergamo side.
