Sky journalist offers mercato update: “Correa remains the name Milan want…”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to seal a deal for Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa in the last 24 hours of the transfer window, according to one journalist.

A number of outlets have reported over the past few weeks that Correa is the Rossoneri hierarchy’s main target to reinforce the attack.

Calciomercato.com recently claimed though that four alternative names are being considered – namely Memphis Depay, Christian Kouame and Mariano Diaz – as the track to Correa had gone cold.

La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira then revealed on Twitter that the Rossoneri are readying one more assault for the Argentina.

The 24-year-old has not been called up for Atletico Madrid’s LaLiga game against Eibar on Sunday, fuelling speculation surrounding a move, as Sky Italia (via PianetaMilan) note.

Sky Italia journalist Alessandro Sugoni has offered an update on the situation surrounding a potential move for Correa, suggesting that Milan are simply hoping Atletico’s demands will be lowered.

“Andrè Silva played [against Brescia], a surprise. Correa remains the name that Milan has in mind,” Sugoni said, as per MilanNews.it.

“The hope is that in twenty-four hours or a little more, what has not happened in the last month will happen, that the Atletico will open to the conditions of Milan even if the Colchoneros appear inflexible.”
