Sky journalist reports Bakayoko talks are proceeding ‘slowly’ but breakthrough can arrive soon

Tiemoue Bakayoko is one of AC Milan’s primary targets to reinforce the squad at Stefano Pioli’s disposal. Negotiations have been proceeding slowly and for some time now with Chelsea to try and find an agreement and bring the Frenchman back to the San Siro.

According to Sky Sport journalist Manuele Baiocchini (via milannews.it), the negotiations between Milan, Chelsea and Bakayoko are proceeding slowly.

Nevertheless, Baiocchini added that there is a draft agreement with Chelsea for a loan deal worth 3 million euros and an option to buy for 30 million. Milan, however, hope to lower the figure to sign the player outright.

But the major slowdown, according to the journalist, is between Bakayoko and the Rossoneri. If Milan decide to activate the option to buy, they will have to have a contract ready for him for the following years, which is now being discussed.

Baiocchini also adds that Milan hope that the closer we move to the end of the transfer market (October 5), the more there are chances that the costs of the operation could drop, both for the cost of the player as well as his salary.

Maldini is in no hurry to close the deal because, with Bennacer and Kessie, as well as the new arrival Tonali, the midfield is already almost set. But when the conditions are right, Milan will look to complete Bakayoko’s return.
