Marcus Rashford has emerged as an option for AC Milan in the past few days, and a move could be possible under the right conditions.
When Manchester United first launched Rashford, many dreamed that he would reach the top. However, he has yet to do this in Manchester. Instead, he has trailed off in the past few years, and excitement has come in spells rather than a prolonged period.
A route away from the Red Devils seems likely, and it could occur as early as January, with Milan a possible option. However, the deal would have to be completed with a significant financial change, as the winger’s contract is far too high for the club to consider paying.
Sky reported that a change in the financials could see a deal occur, and this afternoon, Manuele Baiocchini revealed the same when speaking to Sky Sport, and his words about the transfer have been relayed by Milan News.
“There are names that are of interest like the one mentioned last night which is Marcus Rashford. An extraordinary player, he has played over 400 games with United and 60 with England, with whom he has scored 17 goals.
“We are talking about a top player that the industry sites value between €50-60 million, but in recent weeks he has had problems with his new coach, Amorim. As soon as the Portuguese arrived, he played the first two games as a starter, then he was benched, Amorim made statements that suggested unprofessional behaviour on the part of Rashford. He has played on the right, on the left and also first forward.
“At AC Milan he could be the deputy Leao or the alternative to Morata and Abraham. Basically, it is an opportunity that Milan would also be ready to take. If Manchester United would loan out a player like Rashford Milan would be interested, very interested.
“However, there is the issue with the salary: Rashford gets €14m a year, between now and June it would be 7 million. A salary totally out of reach of any Italian team.
“If Manchester United were to loan him out and contribute to the wage in a substantial way then Milan would be ready to talk about it in a very concrete way, something that for now has not yet begun but the idea is on the table.”
Another “Why?” transfer. Why would Milan take Rashford for 6 months? If it was permanent transfer it could make sense.
Milan wont win UCL this year and Championship is gone… so, why should we get someone just for the rest of the season, when there is not much left to reach this season. better build a team for next season and for this we obviously dont need players who would leave after half a year. same reasoning for Olmo, no matter how good he is, there is nothing that he can win us this season.
Uh, because we need to reach 4th and our strikers are not producing much? You don’t “build” teams in January, and who do you expect will arrive in the summer if we’re not in the Champions League? FFS, some people are dense.
Don’t worry, we make a 4th without any arrivals. And we don’t build a team in January but in the half season we have left. With a new coach maybe he has some special demands on a winger, even if he hasn’t I do think it would be wiser to get an additional long term option. Okafor and Chuk are not very promising and it would be a much better feeling to start next season with just one new deputy winger instead of two.
Milan is 8 points behind 4th spot with a game in hand and 21 games left in the season but apparently UCL is gone.
This is not ManUtd and the EPL.
Also, how do you know Milan can’t win the UCL?
UCL is all about match-ups.
Both inter and Milan were trash 2 years ago and played in the semi-final of UCL, with inter playing and outplaying ManCity for better part of the UCL final.
Let’s lay down and give up, right?
Milan can absolutely finish ahead of Lazio, Juventus, Fiorentina and Bologna the rest of this season.
Not to mention that 5th spot also could take a team to UCL.
Fiorentina lost this weekend and Lazio is down 2-0 to Roma at the half. We’ve got two games in hand on Lazio, and one on Juventus and Fiorentina, who have a game in hand on Lazio, and are 3 pts behind them. It means we could be TWO POINTS off fourth. People are unreasonable.
Well said!
Keep that turn away from the club. Sick of second rate English players playing for us
Hell no.
We don’t nee a bandaid, we need a permanent fix. If Raashford was any good ManUtd would be able to offload him in PL. The fact that they are shopping him around abroad means there’s zero confidence in him.
Not only that but he has huge financial demands too. Some players nowadays do not accept a pay cut even when their game quality has gone down to the bottom.
People dont seem to understand favors in football.
These billionaires will spend 100m just to annoy each other.
They will buy players (e.g. emrrson royal) to build good faith with another club.
This is the political side of football.
They’re really pushing, a?
Rashford should know that the only country where he could get double digit salary is Saudi-Arabia. Not even English clubs are willing to pay him that much anymore. Why? Because he hasn’t been worth it for years.
