Sky journalist thinks new striker will arrive: “I do not believe that Ibrahimovic will be the pivot of Milan”

Sky journalist Giancarlo Padovan has suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be the star man of AC Milan’s attack next season.

MilanNews recently reported that the announcement of Ibrahimovic’s renewal is imminent. Milan want to secure their return to the Champions League with a top four finish and move forward into next season, and they will do so by keeping their champion, the man who in a year and a half changed the present and future of the club.

However, there continues to be a large amount of speculation suggesting that the management are in the market for a new striker, one who is younger in age and could come in to provide Ibrahimovic with the opportunity to manage his workload better, rather than having to rely on Rafael Leao and/or Ante Rebic who are both natural wingers.

Speaking to Sky, Giancarlo Padovan confirmed his belief that those are indeed the plans for the Rossoneri.

“I do not believe that Ibrahimovic will be the pivot of Milan. They need another younger player in front. But Milan will try to get from Ibrahimovic what he has achieved this year, trying to have him in important matches and with a fundamental role in making this team grow,” he said (via MilanNews).
