Sky: Kjaer not enough for Maldini and Boban – another defender could arrive at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could target another centre-back signing this month in addition to the arrival of Simon Kjaer from Sevilla, a report claims.

Head coach Stefano Pioli currently has just Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio and Matteo Gabbia as fit centre-back options, meaning that the Rossoneri are desperate to sign reinforcements in January.

Danish international Simon Kjaer appears to be on the verge of being officially unveiled as a new Milan player having undergone a medical on Saturday, with Asmir Begovic also set to arrive as the new back-up goalkeeper.

According to Sky Italia’s Luca Marchetti – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan have made the decision to keep Gabbia and not loan him out, however that does not mean that their business is done in that department.

Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban could move for another central defender with Musacchio and Romagnoli the only guarantees at present.

Kjaer’s arrival is one which has the potential to be a success, but there are concerns over his experiences in Atalanta – where he did not impress.
