Rafael Leao was really upset by the jeers he received from the AC Milan fans after exiting the game against Udinese, according to a report.
Leao didn’t exactly have the best evening, named as the flop by most newspapers and also by us, with basically nothing going his way. He struggled with his positioning as a centre-forward and when he was moved to left-wing, the end product just wasn’t there.
So, when Massimiliano Allegri decided to take him off in favour for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the 77th minute, there was loud jeers and booes from the Milan fans. In fact, it was at a level that we haven’t seen at San Siro for a long time for an individual player (not the team as a whole).
Criticism as fuel? Likely not
According to Manuele Baiocchini of Sky Italia (via Il Garante), however, this will probably not act as fuel for the No.10. The journalist described him as a ‘very moody guy’ and because of that, he was ‘really upset’ by the jeers from the fans. In other words, the jeers didn’t do any good to him or Milan.
Of course, you could argue that it’s part of being a footballer; sometimes you are booed and sometimes you are celebrated. Anyone who has seen Leao’s tenure at Milan will agree with Baiocchini though, he’s definitely a player who tends to perform when in a good mood.

Škoda že pre tohto chlapa je dobrá nálada a konzistentnosť veľká neznáma…A to Milánu veľmi škodí…
There’s no doubt about it Leao is a great player but Allegri is the one destroying him with this awkward position. In the last match both Leao and Pulisic were playing in the same left wing thanks to Allegri foolishness
“There’s no doubt about it Leao is a great player”.
Fans nowadays have very, very, very ,very low bar for what is considered a great player if they believe that there is no doubt that Leao is a great player.
The fans including myself fell in love with Leao playing as a LEFT WING ATTACKER not as a STRIKER. Allegri is doing worse there.
Where did Leao play last season?
Wasn’t he being benched by both Fonseca and Conceicao?
Wasn’t he being benched by Pioli as well?
All of them are bad coaches while Leao undoubtedly is a great player, even though no top teams want to sign this undoubtedly great player.
How is this undoubtedly great player doing outside of Milan with his national team? Is he even considered a starter for them?
What does Leao missing sitters and 1v1 with the goalkeeper have to do with what position he plays in?
He is still playing as an attacker regardless if its left wing attacker or a striker. He isn’t asked to play as a midfielder or a defender.
Agree fully with Z.
In fact even coach of portugal does not select leao to play every match for his country.
If leao were to show only 25% of the intensity, commitment, interest, skill, tenacity, determination and courage shown by sinner on the tennis court then milan would win the scudetto hands down!!!!!
We should get italiano at bologna see what he’s doing at bologna and what he did at fiorentina.
Allegri has to go and this is why Juventus sacked him. He has more noise than his personality. His coaching style is garbage and this is the true sign that when he won those trophies in Juventus he had the backing of the referees
Let him go he knows nothing
Juve did sack him for a reason. The sooner we follow their example the better.
Here’s a thought.
Maybe Leao is just a ‘good’ footballer.
And maybe, given his wages relative to top players, and his trophy cabinet, he knows his own level and can’t understand the constant pressure.
And maybe it’s ‘lazy’ fans who need a reality check.
I think he is a good player, but not great as he has limitations. Allegri has tried to support him but keeps playing him in a position that doesn’t fit his skill set. My impression is that he is not mentally tough.
Leao and Theo are sort of two peas in a pod.
Almost unplayable when they’re in a good mood and feeling it, but literally a detriment to the team when not.
You’re a professional footballer get paid huge money. Your mood should have nothing to do with it.
Whatever we think of Leao we need the best of him right now and he needs support more then ever. On the other hand, he should learn to cope with booes on San Siro and that should be motivating for players with grinta and cajones. Imagine Zlatan in the same situation…
BTW It’s not easy to understand how is it possible that the player with such athleticism and not small experience can lose his mojo so easily?
Time to go for barbi clown….🥳
Leao is just another Balotelli. His potential was ruined by laziness and then a bad attitude about the topic of his laziness.
Leao is Theo 2.0 right now.
He is good, talented, and fast player, but he never learned.
Season by season this team is depending on him, but he always can’t show up consistently.
Let him go next season is better option, and better raised young players, like Camarda or any others.
So Allegri will need to start asking Leao before starting a game if he’s in a good mood to play? WTH
Leao seems to be Tanking on purpose because of Pulisic and everything Cp represents.
Milan should’ve sold Leao longtime ago and got wingers like Lookman but our pathetic management has no future. Better sell to the Arabs who inject funds.
What i love about the Arabs is that they are in it for winning not for business of flipping a club.
