Sky: Maignan and Jovic will not leave with Milan squad for Cagliari – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

Both Mike Maignan and Luka Jovic will not be available for tomorrow’s game against Cagliari as both will not be risked, according to a report.

The latest from Peppe Di Stefano for Sky (via MilanNews) outside Milanello confirms that both Mike Maignan and Luka Jovic will not leave for Cagliari, with the plane departing at 17:30pm from Milan Malpensa airport.

The goalkeeper is being monitored carefully after the muscle problem he sustained against Newcastle, while the striker will stay at Milanello to train in order to get back to his best condition.

However, the journalist did go on to add that Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez are both in the squad that are travelling, so Pioli has both his starting right and left-backs after they missed the Verona game.

The other absentees include the recovering injured players Pierre Kalulu, Ismael Bennacer and Rade Krunic, all of whom will be out for a bit longer.

  1. I was really wondering why did they allow him to play while fat for a football player. He should get a chance, but not before he does the work…

  2. Doesn’t speak well for Jovic that he didn’t train hard to get in shape and ready to go right at the start of the season. He’s gotten used to cruising along as a bench warmer, just living off what’s left of his reputation, like Origi
