Sky: Maignan undergoes successful surgery but will miss at least 14 games

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has undergone successful surgery on his wrist and will now begin his recovery process.

Speaking to Sky (via MilanNews), Manuele Baiocchini confirmed that surgery for Maignan ended a little while ago and everything went well at the surgical level. However, the less than ideal news for Milan is regarding his recovery time, which they should be no less than two months.

This means that the Frenchman will have to miss at least 14 matches in all competitions which means he will be out for a big and crucial chunk of the season.

The wrist injury and subsequent surgery for Maignan means Ciprian Tatarusanu was left as the only fit goalkeeper in the squad with senior minutes, and the club opted to swoop for the 38-year-old Antonio Mirante to plug a gap in the squad as either a back-up or potentially even getting some starts.
