Sky: Mancini set to start for Roma vs. Milan after avoiding ban

By Ben Dixon -

Ahead of AC Milan’s Europa League fixture against AS Roma, some updates have been provided about the conditions of some of the Giallorossi’s players.

Thursday’s fixture is Milan’s opportunity to salvage a season which will be remembered for all the wrong reasons, and there are still two more areas where the Rossoneri could be left red-faced. Firstly, in the Derby della Madonnina, Inter could lift the Scudetto at San Siro.

Secondly, they could be eliminated from the Europa League, a competition where they have a real chance of success, by a fellow Italian side, who have had a very inconsistent season. Both would massively hurt the Rossoneri, so they have to be as close to perfect as possible this month.

The perfect way to start this would be earning a victory in Thursday’s fixture at San Siro, and Sky (via Calciomercato.com) have reported that the Diavolo will likely face a full-strength Giallorossi side. Gianluca Mancini has avoided a ban for his actions against Lazio at the weekend and has overcome the reported physical issues he has been having, so he will be available.

There are unlikely to be any changes in midfield, given Daniele De Rossi has found his ideal trio. In attack, the Italian has very few options, so Romelu Lukaku, Paulo Dybala and Stephan El Shaarawy will lead the line.
