Sky journalist explains the ‘message’ Ibrahimovic sent to Zirkzee’s agent

Sky journalist Manuele Baiocchini believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent a message to agent Kia Joorabchian over Joshua Zirkzee and the saga he has become embroiled in.

Ibrahimovic gave his first press conference since returning to AC Milan as a Senior Advisor six months ago, and there were plenty of interesting comments plus a few laughs too. We broke down the most important declarations in a feature last night.

As has been widely reported over the past few days, the Milan management have made Zirkzee the number one summer target and they have progressed to an advanced stage in the negotiations with his entourage.

However, the discussions have reached a sticking point. After suggestions that the gap on commissions was being reduced, Zirkzee’s agency have made it clear that they will not revise their €15m demands downwards.

Manuele Baiocchini spoke to MilanNews and he was asked what can be inferred from what Zlatan said regarding commissions and the Zirkzee case.

“The response on Zirkzee is positive from a technical point of view, Ibra said that he is a strong player who can light up San Siro. Then, however, he took a dig at who manages the Dutchman: he said that Milan don’t do charity, the numbers must add up.

“The clear reference is to the commission that Zirkzee’s agent is asking for. What stage is the negotiation at? Milan have an agreement with the player and is ready to pay the 40 million euro release clause to Bologna, but an agreement on commissions is still missing.

“The press conference allowed Ibra to send a message to Kia Joorabchian: ‘If you want to come on our terms fine, if instead you want to exaggerate we will go for other players because Milan also have other options for the attack’.”

      1. Inter Milan spent 10 on Thuram, thus they reach the 2nd🌟if you want your Milan to compete for the Scudetto and make good champions league run, unfortunately it’s the only way, but you prefer to lose derbies in a row whilst humiliated in the Champions league, than keep bringing Moneyball players, as you said alternatives

        1. yeah then when Theo and Maignan’s agent asks for 20m commisions to renew whats your plan then?

Little kids like you need to shut up once in a while you literally cant be bothered to think 5 steps ahead

        2. Thuram was a free agent, you can’t compare to Zirkzee situation which Milan will pay Bologna 40m and is expected to Kia another 15m as commission. I totally agree with Zlatan.

  1. 35% of the total fee as commission. That’s ludicrous. Ridiculous. Nonsensical. Even by today’s transfer market. And many teams are now restricted in spending. Look at the Premier League. The days of writing blank checks are over.

I want Zirkzee as much as anyone, but maybe we need to look more closely at Dovbyk instead. Or someone else.

A 40 million Euro transfer should see about 3-6 million in commission roughly.

    1. Oh and say we fold. This agent could give us problems in the future. Zirkzee either needs to find a new agent or Kia needs to come to his senses and take 10% (fat chance).

      1. Then the agent has to make the same decision – does he want Milan’s business in future? And players choosing an agent will have to decide if they want one profiteering off them to quite this level.

        1. Agents don’t like doing business with Milan. Look at all the commissions that we have paid out in recent history, less than the likes of Atalanta or Roma. Elliot and Maldini have set a precedent for not paying commissions if they can avoid it. Agents know Milan drive a hard deal, so they would rather take their clients elsewhere, to clubs who are willing to pay these agents.

  2. As the case is right now, Milan should start looking out for alternatives. This agent is acting this way simply because of the boost from Man U. They’ve asked him to hold on from signing any deal till July 1st, so that they can fully enter the negotiations. That’s the reason for the delay game.

  3. The other strikers on the list are just Moneyball, Ibra you don’t know what real Ac Milan is, you didn’t win the champions league

  4. they work for more than two months already, if they can’t find agreement, i’d say better start negotiating with the next candidate on the list.

  5. Hypocrisy is not relevant.

    These commissions are BS.

We need a Bosman to challenge because I don’t see how the agent can retain all this control and it not creat a conflict or breach other laws.

In the meantime, there are plenty of fish in the sea, far too many to consider being extorted.

Don’t pay. Move on. Blacklist the agent.

  6. @Sam Thuram was free so commission can be higher but trigger release clause and 30% commission is insane. I thought that would be common knowledge

  7. Yes the commission of 15M is insane – BUT – that IS what it is at the moment – and those are the rules unfortunately – so if we want him we pay it and if we don’t we move on. His price will likely only go up during the Euros. People are just outraged over the agents commission. If the agent made ZERO and the release clause was 55M – most would say do it. So what’s the issue then?

If you wanna play with the big boys you have to pay. If not then sign another Jovic and let see where that gets us. 55M for a starting striker at 23 yrs of age with experience in the league with room to grow and a resale value is worth the $$$ IMO. Whether 5M goes to Bologna or all 55M – I don’t care – just get the player and get the deal done IF you want him or as Ibra said go for an alternative. My guess is we go the cheap route and try to take Guirassy because he is cheap at 17.5M – we shall see. But the longer this drags on and if he does well at the Euros – the LESS likely this deal gets done. And this is always the problem. We haggle and haggle until we lose the player then try to blame it on the other party. Real clubs don’t mess around and go after the players they want with conviction and get them. Attempting to be principled in sports is a waste of time. If we don’t want to spend over 50M then move on and go sign someone else. Get on with it and quit the BS all the time. Always fkn drama with Redbird.

      1. Hahahahahaha! There he is!! Where have you been @Pioli? Or I mean donkey???? Missed you kid LOL.

He’s worth what one will pay – the market dictates that. Not a dip$h*t like yourself. If we don’t think he’s worth it then why do we continue to haggle? We offered 8M in commission but not 15M. Ok. So I guess we think he’s worth 48M but not 55M…hmmmmm. LOL..

Missed you @Pioli! And now you have your kissing cousin @Goku to canoodle with. Enjoy lads!

    1. You’re talking out of your rear. 15 million is NOT a common commission. It isn’t common even for other teams. Not on a player who is worth at 40 million.

    2. Once again you show you don’t know what you’re talking about. Where are you getting this idea that a €15 million commission is the norm? Arsenal paid something like €30 million in agents fees AND renewals last season, that’s for 8 players, and that includes a player signed for €100 million.

Zirkzee and Doughlas Luiz are Kia’s only high profile clients. He only has 30 clients, about half of them are young players no one has heard of. We are Milan. We won’t be dictated to by greedy scumbags.

The lesson Zirkzee, and others, will learn from this is to not allign themselves with crooks like Joorabchian.

      1. Ya that and your bus pass will get you somewhere sparky LOL

You obviously cannot read – I called the fee “insane” – you do know what that means right son? Lots of illiterate people on this chat. Yikes.

Ya I’m very sure all of Kia’s clients will leave him over this…yup. Say it louder and they may hear you kid😂

        1. Work on your reading comprehension:

“Zirkzee and Doughlas Luiz are Kia’s only high profile clients. He only has 30 clients, about half of them are young players no one has heard of.”

From that you should be able to conclude he isn’t a good agent precisely because of his greed. Milan paying €15 million in commission makes them look like suckers.

Are you capable of going a day without posting something totally and utterly worthless?

  8. Part of me thinks that 55m is 55m regardless of who it goes to but part of me is also super impressed by Dovbyk.

  9. I don’t think it’s smart for us to stand on principal here, if he’s willing to drop to something below €10m I say go for it. No point in losing a player you want over a few million to the agent, in hindsight it won’t matter.

  10. Milan are in some tough negotiations with Mike Magnian’s and Theo’s entourages.

If they pay 15m in agent fees, and then tell Mike they are not willing to pay x amount in wages, or tell Theo they can’t afford y amount in wages, they will look unserious.

The principle is important because other agents are watching

  11. We still can use Charles De Ketelaere as STC and dont need to spend another euros for a new Forward, because CDK had a pretty good performances at Atalanta past Season.

  12. There must some kind of regulation here. Fixed commission depending on the overall investment made, etc etc. Agents seem to be ruling football out of no rationale.

  13. Jerry being a gringo understands very well the power of “suggestion” and
that’s why he hired so many fan boys as ACM1899 ,Boulden,Goku to eat sh*t here and lick his and snake Ibrahimovic’s ⚾️🥎🏀!Do you also s**k or just lick?!

  14. Fed up reading about transfer strategy of milan ….. if any such strategy exists – which i very much doubt. Scores of coaches…. lots of players … lots of empty talk …. empty wind …. sick of it all as even Zirkzee and Fofana are flying away …..
