Sky: Midfield outcast likely to leave Milan as Lyon enter race – first contacts made

The future of Lucas Paqueta remains uncertain after what was a disappointing 2019/20 season, failing to live up to the level his first six months with the club. He has previously lacked suitors, but now a club has entered the race.

According to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews.it, Lyon are interested in the Brazilian midfielder. The latter joined Milan in January 2019 and immediately made an impact along with Kris Piatek. However, they both failed to build on that spell.

The Polish striker has since left the Rossoneri and it seems Paqueta is next in line. The Ligue 1 side haven’t made an offer for the player yet but the first contacts have been made, which is an important step to any negotiations.

It remains to be seen how much they can offer, though the 23-year-old can’t be worth much more than around €25m considering his recent form. Even though that would be a capital loss, it might be wise for Milan to close the chapter.
