AC Milan have lined up a deal for Schalke defender Matija Nastasic who will be the next summer signing if the management choose to close, it is claimed.
Milan’s pursuit of a defender has intensified given that Matteo Gabbia and Simon Kjaer are the only options at present with Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio and Leo Duarte all out.
The most intense link over the past few days has been the one to Nastasic, and Gianluca Di Marzio has told Sky (via MilanLive) that the deal is all lined up.
He claims that the Rossoneri management obtained the green light from Schalke 04 regarding a loan with option to buy deal. However, Paolo Maldini and co. are not yet fully convinced of closing and are thinking about it, but it will be closed the moment they decide to.
The alternatives are believed to be Kristoffer Ajer of Celtic, Wesley Fofana of Saint-Etienne, Fiorentina duo Nikola Milenkovic and German Pezzella plus Nordi Mukiele of Leipzig.
