AC Milan have begun to evaluate concrete alternative targets to Sven Botman and one of them is in Serie A, according to a report.
According to what is being reported by Sky (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri are having difficulties in getting Botman because Newcastle United have offered €40m plus €5m in bonuses to try and sign the Dutchman which the management cannot match.
Therefore, Milan could turn to alternative profiles and Arthur Theate of Bologna is one that they very much like, with the Belgian considered one of the best young defensive talents in the league.
Bologna got Theate from KV Oostende on loan with an obligation to buy and given that he has settled into Serie A so well, the Rossoblu should be able to set a good asking price that would allow them to make a profit on their investment.
The 22-year-old has also been capped three times by the Belgian national team which shows the level of attention he is getting for his performances under Sinisa Mihajlovic.
I don’t see him being a bad signing, but imo anything over 13 mil and I think it’s a bit excessive

Theate is a decent player, if you actually watched him play you would know that, and he’s very young so potentially a very good signing, he’s one of the reasons Bologna got that win over Inter. I wouldn’t mind him at all, for that price we are getting someone of a similar quality to Botman, and let’s be real here Botman hasn’t really proven himself that much. He’s got good potential growth, but he hasn’t shown anything close to like what Kalulu has done and would stifle the next Thuram’s growth. I’d say yes to Theate, and then get some proper attackers.
Just try sign him with 5m euro loan and obligation to buy 15m euro. Maybe bologna are interesting,offer them some primavera to reduce the price
