Sky: Milan plan talks over €10m Brest star as Arsenal rebuff attempts for duo

AC Milan are planning talks with Brest regarding Lilian Brassier who is a target for the defensive department this month, according to a report.

The first reinforcement of the January transfer window arrived yesterday for Milan as Matteo Gabbia’s return from his loan spell at Villarreal was confirmed. He gave an interview with Sky in which he revealed his delight to be back at the club he considers it his ‘dream’ to become a starter for.

However, with Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori all out for some time yet, Sky (via Radio Rossonera) are reporting that Milan are looking to sign another central defender. That has become the focus over signing a striker, given Luka Jovic’s recent form.

Brassier is the target, a 24-year-old who has become an immovable member of a Brest defence which is one of the best in Ligue 1. They appear willing to let the player leave in January, but only on a permanent basis.

The demands are around €10m, and what Milan like about Brassier is that he can also play the role of left-back which could mean some rest for Theo Hernandez at times when he needs it, however Monaco and Porto are also keen.

Sky add that in recent days the management persistently tried to loan Jakub Kiwior first and then Takehiro Tomiyasu from Arsenal, but the Gunners don’t want to lose the two players on a temporary basis.
