Sven Botman has been heavily linked with AC Milan over the last few months but it seems the Rossoneri could be beaten in the race for the defender. In fact, Newcastle are closing in.
The Rossoneri are looking for a centre-back to replace the exit-bound Alessio Romagnoli this summer. Being left-footed, and filled with quality, Botman has been the primary target for quite some time.
However, according to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Newcastle have seemingly entered pole position for Botman as they are ready to offer a whopping €50-55m. Obviously, this is too much for Milan.
As a result of this, Milan are expected to focus on Torino defenser Gleison Bremer this summer. The Brazilian has a price tag of around €30m and is, as such, a more feasible solution. The report states, however, that Milan will make one last attempt for Botman.

Bremer won’t end up costing much less when Inter or someone else joins the transfer ! I think they’ll end up choosing a more affordable option !
Just like last year, Inter needs to sell before they can buy anyone. They are in no position to get into a bidding war.
Hope management RENEWS Romangnoli when there’s still TIME instead of looking for costly replacements outside. Lets secure solidity first, then we can go around adding backup IF NEEDED. But I understand that we should allow Romagnoli to get playing time elsewhere instead of just warming the bench in his prime for players who grew under him.
I think that’s the point. Romagnoli just wants to play! He’s probably aware that besides Kalulu and Tomori, he’s no longer a priority for the top eleven. If he were to accept this fact, for Maldini it would be simple just to raise a little bit what they offer him and “guys, let’s move on” !
Renew Romagnoli not an option . Do you want to put player with salary 3m euro nett as 4th choice CB while he need playing time in his prime age. Signing botman or bremer are the best option to replace romagnoli
Bremer for 30M or Botman for 50M the choice is easy with Bremer. However I’m Not sure how anyone thinks Bremer will only cost 30M. Conte/Tottenham want him since they cannot get Bastoni who is staying at Inter. Tottenham will of course outbid us and likely pay over 40M+ for him to Torino. Only chance is if Bremer says he wants to stay in Italy. So unless Bremer stay they want to play or stay in Italy – feels like we will lose out on both. I hope I am wrong but I don’t see it happening. Taking too much time and more EPL teams are getting involved.
