Sky: Milan communicate to Chelsea that they will buy Tomori for €28.5m – announcement imminent

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have let Chelsea know of their decision to buy Fikayo Tomori on a permanent basis for the agreed fee, reports claimed.

After lots of speculation regarding Tomori’s future following a fantastic sox-month loan spell, it seems there is no doubt about his stay with the Rossoneri. Sky (via MilanLive) confirms that the club have communicated to Chelsea their decision to exercise the option to buy for £25m (€28.5m) – the price agreed in January.

The Blues did not make themselves available to negotiate a discount on the amount, despite Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara’s attempts, but they have decided to sign him anyway given the qualities he has shown and his age. The deal will be completed and announced next week, while Tomori will sign a contract until June 2026 with Milan as per the report.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano confirms that Milan have just communicated to Chelsea that they will trigger the clause to sign the Englishman on a permanent deal.
