Sky: Milan confirm Leao has been in quarantine for 25 days after contracting COVID-19

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao has been absent from AC Milan’s preseason preparations as he is currently isolating having tested positive for COVID-19, it is claimed.

After the reported injury sustained against Cagliari, Leao never returned to training with group and has not yet taken part in a session under the orders of Pioli.

The forward revealed on Twitter that he had been in quarantine though it was fairly ambiguous as to whether he was still isolating or if it was past tense.

However, Sky Italia journalist Peppe Di Stefano (via MilanNews) spoke about the Rossoneri team that will take the field against Shamrock Rovers, and discussed Leao’s situation.

He confirmed that the Portuguese starlet – as Milan have now confirmed – has contracted COVID-19 and has been in quarantine for 25 days.

Rebic, on the other hand, will have to serve the three-day suspension he remedied at the time of Eintracht Frankfurt. In his place will be Alexis Saelemaekers.
