Sky: Milan consider Belgium U21 star to replace Suso; player wants to join the Rossoneri

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are considering a move for versatile Anderlecht man Alexis Saelemaekers after Suso’s departure was confirmed, a report claims.

It was confirmed on Wednesday evening that Suso will join LaLiga side Sevilla on an 18-month loan with an option to buy, which will turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met throughout the course of the loan.

Speaking to Sky Italia’s microphones (via MilanNews.it), Luca Marchetti provided an update with what Milan fans can expert with regards to a replacement for the 26-year-old.

He claims that Alexis Saelemaekers is among the names that Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban are monitoring closely, and that there has already been an offer for the player from Bundesliga side Freiburg.

However, the 20-year-old – who is a Belgium U21 international – would prefer to move to Milan, so much that if the negotiation should not close before Friday’s 8pm deadline he would wait for the summer

Milan are trying to understand how much it would take to bring him to San Siro, but he certainly fits in line with Elliott Management’s policy of signing young players with potential.

Saelemaekers has two goals and two assists in 16 leageu games so far this season for Anderlecht, and can play on either wing plus as a central midfielder if needed.
