Sky: Milan could sign Mandzukic on a free as contacts with agent take place

Contrary to what has been reported in Italian media recently, Milan could sign a striker this transfer window to strengthen the attack. By the looks of it, they have set their sights on a former Juventus man.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews), speaking live on Sky Italia this evening, Milan have held contacts with Giovanni Branchini, the agent of Mario Mandzukic. The Croatian striker is a free agent, having terminated his deal with Al-Duhail.

The hypothesis of signing Mandzukic has gathered steam in the Milan camp and after speaking with his agent both yesterday and today, they will now decide how to proceed. In terms of characteristics, he could be a good backup for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

At the age of 34, he would be yet another experienced element in what is a very young Rossoneri side. With an important upcoming stretch in the league, his presence could be of value for the youngsters.
