AC Milan know that they cannot be caught unprepared in their pursuit of a new striker and thus they are evaluating an alternative to Joshua Zirkzee, a report claims.
According to what is being reported by Sky, there are three things that have slowed down Milan’s mission to sign Zirkzee: the competition from Manchester United, the €15m commission demands from his agent and the last-minute call-up to the Dutch national team.
It remains to be seen whether the Premier League side will be able to satisfy the requests of the agent of the Bologna striker Kia Joorabchian and the Rossoneri are not giving up on signing him just yet, but they must also look around and study different solutions.
A name that is back in fashion is Artem Dovbyk, with whom there were some contacts last week. Milan admire the Girona striker and are no doubt watching how he does at the European Championship with Ukraine, given he has a starting spot.
Dovbyk racked up 25 goals and 10 assists in 41 games across all competitions last season which helped the LaLiga side secure an unlikely qualification for the Champions League. He too has a release clause, and it seems he is the main alternative to Zirkzee.
Ukraine was the worst team I’ve seen so far in the euros. Horrible passing and decision making. Didn’t really see how Dovbyk performed though.

that’s great alternative, but I suppose that Dovbyk will move to Atletico Madrid. especially, that Simeone really want him. they could offer easily better contract and more money to Girona. very difficult transfer, the same as Zirkzee.

better if Milan focus on more realistic targets. my evaluation say me that Andrea Pinamonti and Ellis Simms could be reasonable targets. I could buy both of them, they still could really improve in proffesional football and they are ready to give for AC Milan sth extra or very special.

He was brilliant the other day until Romania scored and then doubled up on him. He still made quite a few smart runs into the right spaces but was never once found – it was a really poor team performance.
While bringing in dovbyk, they should ensure they also bring in the ecosystem around him that supplied the passes..
He is a good player but there are better players out there. Ramos at PSG would be great. Due to Mbappe and Kolo Muani he doesnt get enough playing time, he would be great signing, very talented, skilful and clinical finisher. Another left field signing is Depay. He never settled in Spain but is good player. if we want to play false 9 system, he would do very well.
You should never look at international competitions to judge how a player would do for a club. I’ve seen this mistake done time and again. Player has good games for his country and flops at a club that paid lot for him because of those performances. I’m looking at you Denilson 😅
Zee is such a better fit for Milan and our wingers than Dovbyk. Just seems like a shoe in, especially in the build up/hold up phase. I would hate for it to be derailed by Kia’s commission…
How? We have wingers that are great at giving service to a target striker… Zirk would be better on the counter for sure but he hasn’t scored through the air since Jan 2020… I much prefer Dovbyk. Unless Fonseca is going to deviate from 4-3-3/4-3-2-1, but it doesn’t seem like he will.

We should ho for dirbyk,who helped hhem secure a champions league spot, he gad 25 goals and 10 assists, I watched him play ,he has very good dribling skills, excellent finisher, he is physically fit, he is a complete striker. Another a dvantage release clause is 40 mil.just like Zirkzee, if the agent would accept less than 10million we should wrap up the deal, as we look for more sighnings get it out of the way the sooner the better

If management can’t deliver us a quality striker and CDM at a minimum, they should all be sacked. We have the name, we have the money, what’s the problem
Just reading about milan’s search for an attacker makes me puke these days. Just empty talk – lots of hot air – words – loads of BS …. hope milan fans will not buy season tickets this year…..
