Sky: Milan keen on Girona and Chelsea duo amid ‘monster’ Zirkzee commission requests

AC Milan have two other strikers in mind if they cannot sign Joshua Zirkzee given the Dutchman’s entourage are requesting very high commissions.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri remain intent on signing Zirkzee from Bologna to be the replacement for Olivier Giroud but are prepared to look elsewhere if it’s needed.

Milan are ready to pay the €40m release clause for Zirkzee but they have not come to an agreement on salary for the player yet, as well as the commissions that will be played to Zirkzee’s agents which may be around €15m.

That is the sticking point in the negotiation and the agents believe that the fee is justified given Zirkzee’s release clause is low compared to his market value.

Milan do not want to pay €15m on top of the release clause, so other options are being kept in mind. Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk from Girona is an option as he scored 24 goals and got 10 assists last season.

He would likely cost around €40m and Napoli are also interested, whilst Armando Broja from Chelsea is linked once again. The Albanian has been an option for Milan in the past but a serious injury stopped his chance of a move last summer.

  1. Dovbyk is my choice of the three, get him or Zirkzee.

Don’t buy Broja unless it’s heavily discounted like, 10m or so. He is coming back from bad injury and struggled to get playing time even at Fulham.

Better try someone else like Gimenez, David, or etc if we cant get Dovbyk or Zirkzee

    1. I agree. I don’t watch la Liga but every week I could see that Dovbyk has scored one or two goals, he looks like a killer. For once I agree with the management, just say “no thank you”. If Zirkee really wants to come, he’ll speak to his agent.

Chelsea is one of the six PL clubs that are forced to sell players otherwise they’ll be sanctioned by the league so maybe it’s possible to have Broja for really cheap. He doesn’t have a crazy salary, reportedly 2M a year.

      1. I really like (pre issues) Broja, but I think in terms of players off the bench we’ve got to start thinking about Camarda. In modern football a three year deal is really a two year deal; blink and he’ll be thinking about his next move if we don’t show him a path to the first team. Next season is too soon but certainly the season after.

Broja on loan with a cheap option could be a good deal.

And yeah, if the Dovbyk rumours have any weight, then him please.

        1. Yeah I think we’re all excited with Camarda, a Milanese, Milanista from the academy. Sadly he grew up watching Piatek or Bacca haha but I see Pippo and Sheva in him, I’m in love already. As you say we should play him with the first team sometimes and I think Fonseca is here to help develop the talents from the academy. But I would like to sign two strikers, we need a starter and a good backup, we had a lot of injuries and I don’t think Jovic and Okafor are suited for the striker position.

If we can avoid to sell our top players and extend them while we develop our youth, I could reconsider my judgment about the management. It’s early but let’s see. Maybe we can even have Tonali back as a traditional EPL reject, in one year or two. C’è un’emozione, che cresce piano piano!

          1. You can 100% see a near future where we sign Tonali back, after an initial 2 year loan with Newcastle paying half his wages 😀

          2. They will sell maignan . His request salary 8m euro nett too high for GK . For the others i dont think they will sell like theo ,leao ,pulisic etc. Unless PSG coming and pay leao release clause for mbappe replacement then nothing ACM can do to prevent that. This artem are poacher type similar with jovic while zirkzee striker that can open room , create chance for team but not prolific striker. Zee more suitable to support leao + pulisic + chukwu if ACM play 4231 but his agent fee make it difficult . Artem good on 433 and can score more than 30 goal if winger and wing back service him

          3. We don’t know if Maignan really asked for 8M€ a year. It seems crazy, he doesn’t have leverage after all his injuries. If Inter can afford Sommer for 9M€ (gross), we can do better than the 3,5M€ (gross) that Maignan currently earns as a younger and better goalkeeper, and seemingly a leader in the locker room. Again, what’s the point of being sustainable if we don’t spend the money where it’s required. Let’s see how he performs during the Euro.

        2. I would prefer taking Lukaku on loan option rather than Borja. And buy any of the young talented striker with Sesko leading the race and Giminez as an alternative in my own option or better The Stuttgart striker with lower transfer fee to rotate with !Lukaku and Colombo or Nasti as under study . Jovic could leave

      2. Colombo and Nasti even Camarda are all better that Broja..

But I won’t be surprised if Milan missed out in all their target and settle for player like Broja 😡😡😡

      3. Typical Italian clubs. It’s pointless selling Broja for peanuts as it wouldn’t help with PSR it’s better to loan him out and get a loan fee. And if he proves himself he gets recalled or sold for a sensible fee. So look somewhere else if you think you’re getting him for peanuts.

  2. We already have Jovic if Borja becomes a consideration.. Let’s not repeat the cycle when it comes to the no.9 position. We need a signing for the future and hence a serious investment would be a prerequisite, like a Dovbyk or Giminez, etc.

  3. I don’t understand how these commissions operate.

Why do any of these players sign these deals?

What does the agent actually do?

How many millions does the commission cost Zirkzee?

Someone should do a Bosman and test whether these contracts infringe into the territory of modern slavery.

The quicker these parasites can be eradicated the better.

    1. “What does the agent actually do?”

“Leak” rumors to the media. Push their players to teams who don’t even want them. Manipulate. Probably offer their own a55 too as they’d do ANYTHING for money.

  4. I’ve been saying this for months now. Artem Dovbyk is the striker Milan should get. He would be a better fit than all the other players we are linked with.

Our last Ukrainian striker was a Ballon D’or winner. Get Dovbyk ASAP!

  5. Wouldn’t mind Dovbyk at all, guy has the profile to easily replace giroud. And 15 mil for agent fees alone is beyond ridiculous. Zirkees agent really out here sabotaging his career to try and get a pay day, it’s no surprise they wanted him to go be midtable in the epl
