Sky: Milan hoping to have four key players back at 100% for Atletico Madrid match

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to recover some key players by the next Champions League game against Atletico Madrid at San Siro, a report claims.

According to the Sky website, Simon Kjaer will have a few days of rest and treatment but the MRI ruled out a muscle injury, so he is likely to miss the next two league games against Venezia and Spezia but should be back to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic feels better, but he is still working individually to try and get back to normal and the Swede will try to at least make the bench for Wednesday’s game, which is ‘difficult but not impossible’. The same can be said for Olivier Giroud who could be on the bench against Venezia after working to get through lower back pain.

Davide Calabria is likely to miss Venezia and Spezia, so he will try to recover for Atletico in the Champions League, while Junior Messias will be assessed next week. Finally, midfield duo Tiemoue Bakayoko and Rade Krunic will miss Venezia, Spezia and Atletico with new tests planned for next week.
