Sky: Milan in talks with Chelsea over deal for midfielder – €38m package could seal it

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in talks with Chelsea over a deal for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on the basis of a paid loan with the possibility of it becoming permanent.

That is according to both Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, who claim that Bakayoko is a ‘concrete’ target for Milan this summer.

One of the priorities for the management appears to be to strengthen the midfield, as Pioli will continue with a 4-2-3-1 but alternatives to Kessie and Bennacer are needed.

The name of Bakayoko keeps being mentioned, a player who left the Rossoneri a year ago after a successful loan spell under Gennaro Gattuso in 2018-19.

The Di Marzio report claims that the deal could be unlocked on the basis of a paid loan at around €3m with the possibility of making it permanent for €35m, and Romano states that would be an option to buy.

Bakayoko made 23 appearances and scored one goal this season for Monaco, who chose not to activate their option to buy.
