Sky: Milan interested in Senegalese forward but €25m clause will soon expire

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s interest in signing Boulaye Dia has been confirmed, but if they want to land him for his release clause price they will have to move quickly.

As reported by Sky, on Thursday evening the €25m release clause in Dia’s deal expires after he was bought by Salernitana for €12m at the end of last season following a successful initial loan spell from Villarreal.

The 26-year-old netted 16 goals and added 6 assists last season which means he has drawn the eyes of several clubs. In Italy there is interest in him above all from Fiorentina and Milan, as per the report.

From the Premier League there are rumours that Everton and Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Dia, but if they want to sign him for €25m they must move quickly and trigger the clause by tomorrow.

If no team comes forward to pay the clause before it expires, they will have to negotiate a fee directly with Salernitana who could of course ask for more.

    1. Dia looks like he is very counter attack dependent. He even only scored one goal with his head in his entire career.

Imo definitely not someone who should be a first (or second or third) choice target.

  1. Guys…you have links to the club..can you send a memo with the word:

    RETEGUI

he could be he for less than 20m, is 23, scores lots of goals and is Italys starting CF….why on earth aren’t we interested…there’s rumours fiorentina and Genoa are after him….

    Surely it’s a no brainier

      1. Not sure mate and that’s a valid point, all I know is the rumours of Fiorentina and Genoa interest. I can’t imagine he’d reject CL football and a shot at the title to play for them.

It seems to be the obvious choice. I think we should focus on Ricci, Chukwueza and Retegui.
