Sky journalist claims Milan ‘will sign an Italian striker’ and are ‘trying’ for Belotti

By Oliver Fisher -

Sky journalist Giancarlo Padovan has revealed his belief that AC Milan will sign an Italian striker this summer and thinks Andrea Belotti will be that player.

Padovan spoke in the Sky studios (via SempreMilan.it) and he claimed that Milan are ‘reflecting’ on the idea of signing Belotti and are also ‘trying to get Belotti’. He adds that in his opinion the Rossoneri ‘will sign an Italian striker’ and Belotti is a concrete option.

The 28-year-old is not renewing his contract with Torino which expires at the end of the season, and on the contrary he has also amicably decided to leave. However, the Italy international ‘is not going to play in Toronto’ nor will he go to a league purely for the money.

Instead, Belotti ‘wants an important challenge’, he ‘wants to win something’ and that’s why it could be the right time for his path to finally cross with his boyhood club Milan.

  1. If Milan sign Belotti & Origi then it will be difficult for Colombo to get enough playing time. It will be hard to compete with Belotti, Origi, Giroud, and Ibra if he renewed his contract.

    1. Well colombo will abslutely need a year or two at loan at another club in serie a regardless if belotti joins us or not so he keeps developing.. He is a great talent but hasnt scored a goal in serie b since november 30th 2021 against lecce and you are worried that aquirring belotti would hurt his chances of getting minutes with us ?

    2. I guess they want to loan out Colombo to one of the lesser Serie A sides like Empoli. Or maybe even Torino. I seriously doubt that Colombo is in their plans for next season, Lazetic too could be loaned out.

    3. Oh man, I don’t know how many ppl expect “primavera” kid can make impact instantly in first team
As Mourinho said, there’s huge difference quality between primavera and first team
Do you know how many seasons pobega was loaned out to got this level?

      1. That’s true. No practice – no growth. Even on a mental level. That’s why I am worried about Maldini JR. We are holding him without letting him make his steps.

    4. Columbo is the last person I would worry about…IMO we need proven CL players. Origi fits the bill. It’s obvious until Ibra retires we are not spending big $$ on a striker. So our choices are limited unfortunately

  2. Milan became mediocre some seasons ago, and some recent fans don’t understand why you need winners in a team.

Tommasson was a goal scorer but was on Milan bench for the sake of it, scoring a low amount of goals, but crucial ones.

  3. I love Belotti’s motivation. And he has the right mentality and character. Backed by his leadership experience and is still young.
If something goes wrong, we can sell him to Toronto or wherever and cover our expenses.
    We should try this option.
