Sky: Milan make formal offer for Benfica star amid strong Man Utd links – the player’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made a formal offer for Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes, a report claims, with the Portuguese side willing to sell.

According to Sky Sports in the UK, Benfica are listening to offers for Fernandes, who they want to loan out for 18 months with an option to buy.

Fernandes’ representatives have been in England and have spoken to four Premier League clubs, the report claims, while Manchester United are one of the clubs with concrete interest.

The 20-year-old has not featured in Benfica’s last seven games and seems set for an exit, Lyon and Milan having ‘made formal offers’ for the player, who would rather move to England.

Milan were also linked with a move for Fernandes over the sumemr, with Gianluca Di Marzio telling Sky Italia that the Rossoneri had requested information.

They were apparently told he would cost €30million plus bonuses, an asking price which was too high for Paolo Maldini and co.
