Sky journalist expects Milan’s management to change: “Something is missing in the club”

Sky journalist Peppe Di Stefano has provided an interesting analysis of AC Milan’s current situation, suggesting that there is a figure missing within the current management setup.

Milan are going into another international break under a lot of scrutiny after back-to-back defeats against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and Fiorentina in Serie A, which followed an impressive derby win and a thrashing of Lecce.

The belief is that Paulo Fonseca is back under pressure as the head coach but the players have also had the lens turned on them after the farcical incidents that took place during the defeat in Florence, such as the penalty mutiny and Theo Hernandez’s red card as the captain.

Di Stefano spoke live on Sky outside Milanello about what he perceives to be internal problems at Milan that also spilled out onto the field during the match against Fiorentina, with his comments relayed by Radio Rossonera.

“I don’t want to make a list of those who are to blame, but right now something is missing in the club. Because, as it is right at this moment to put the focus on the team and the coach, in my opinion today more than in the past, we need the presence more than ever, not only physical, but also dialectical, of a manager who could speak immediately after with the players, who could speak with the press, who could talk about Milan’s delicate moment,” he said.

“I believe that it will probably happen. It will also happen in the next few days. We spoke a month ago about Ibra’s absence against Lazio, but he didn’t speak to the team or in general. I think it’s more important than ever that they stay close to the Rossoneri environment. Because it’s a very delicate moment of the season.”

  1. You’re damn right something is missing. Italian players, homegrown players and players with Serie A experience. They wasted 90 millions on non functional midfield and are on mission to strengthen it further but again the likes of Cardoso and Chukwuemeka are being tipped as top targets.

They’re doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Not insanity but blind arrogance.

    1. Also missing are the players who put the team first over their own egos. We only have 3-4 of those and that’s not enough. You don’t need to look further than the rivals from the same city where the players work for the team. Even the biggest stars such as Martinez.

      1. Well rather than looking wishfully at Inter and their biggest stars why don’t you go and support them?

There’s only 3-4 players who you rate or whatever so why are you wasting your time supporting the Poor Neighbour?

        Go for the big leave.

20 Scudetti (minus the 2 stolen).

        1. “Well rather than looking wishfully at Inter and their biggest stars why don’t you go and support them?”

Wow. So mature. I’m impressed. Let me quote the great Maldini’s Hair from a few days back: “This isn’t open to debate”.

So yeah. Not going to go and support them. Pathetic. You are like a fng 7-year-old. Not that I’d expect anything more of you to be honest.

        2. “There’s only 3-4 players who you rate ”

FFS you are getting dumber every day. Only 3-4 players I rate? Where did I say that? Trying to bang any sense into your head is like banging head against the wall but even more painful. Your stupidity has no limits.

      2. I agree. Currently I rate only the likes of Mike, Gabbia, Fofana, Reijnders, Pulisic and Morata who are giving their best for the team. Calabria, Okafor and Pavlovic are also there.

  2. I thought with Maldini gone we’re now in “perfect harmony” according to Scaroni? Hmm 🤔 did it dissolve overnight lol. This has to be the biggest sh.oot-yourself-in-the-foot if I’ve ever seen one. Put aside the name Maldini for a sec and call him Mr Apple or something because it’s a bad word here. Did they not realize how difficult it is to win something, let alone the league title…in and of itself very difficult. The get an incredible run to the eeven more difficult UCL semis with our name finally back attached to a cup were synonymous with and who Mr Apple is also synonymous with. So to replace Mr. Apple with whoever else or just let go Mr. Apple, you would now have to …once more….win the league….and get to at least the UCL quarters.. consistently to make it make sense. So from the get go, they just put themselves into a bind. Same as last year. Pioli finished 2nd, the only improvement is to win the league. Otherwise….whats the point of changing coach. Whichever coach came in needed to get it right from the go. Worse yet, if we finish worse than 4th. Again foot…meet g.un. That they didn’t twice back to back to me is just hilarious

  3. Tomori, Theo, and Abraham are world-class players in their respective positions. Tomori and Theo, in particular, are clearly the best in the league. With Fonseca proving to be an excellent coach so far, we don’t see any major concerns at the moment. Yes, they lost a game, but so what? One loss doesn’t change the quality of the team or their potential. And don’t forget, Milan have Pulisic too
