Sky: Milan to meet with Giroud’s entourage later this week to try reach agreement

The AC Milan management will soon meet with Olivier Giroud’s representatives to try find an agreement over a renewal, a report claims.

According to Manuele Baiocchini of Sky (via SempreMilan.it), either on Thursday or Friday the Rossoneri management will meet Giroud’s entourage at Casa Milan to discuss the striker’s contract renewal, given that his current deal expires in June 2024.

The Frenchman – who was also a protagonist at the World Cup with France – should sign a new one-year extension with an option for a second year. The unknown part concerns the sum he will receive, with Milan aiming to keep the current €3.5m net per season salary for 2023-24.

Giroud has been a crucial part of Milan’s revival and scored several big goals in the Scudetto win, but this year he will turn 37 and that is something that must factor into the minds of the club when planning the attacking department of the future.
