Sky: Milan ready to make ‘important investments’ – latest on Man Utd, Real Madrid and Barcelona trio

The Milan management are working on plugging some of the current gaps in the squad, with negotiations on multiple fronts ongoing.

Speaking to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), journalist Luca Marchetti took stock of the Milan mercato and discussed the Donnarumma and Calhanoglu exits, remarking that given the club’s firm stance on salaries it is expected that they can and will lose some players.

It is clear that Milan potentially had important assets in Donnarumma and Calhanoglu and today they no longer have them, and they did not receive a transfer fee for them. To replace them Milan will make ‘important investments’ and Mike Maignan has been the first.

Regarding Brahim Diaz, Milan have been working on the negotiation in conjunction with other operations and the feeling is positive. Paolo Maldini and co. are also talking with Diogo Dalot and Junior Firpo, but to date it seems Barcelona want to sell Firpo, while Milan want him on loan, so negotiations are on stand-by.
