Sky: Milan ‘risk losing’ midfield star Kessie as there is ‘no economic agreement’

By Isak Möller -

Milan are working on renewing the contract of Franck Kessie as it will expire in 2022. Of course, they want to avoid another Gigio Donnarumma-esque situation, especially since the midfielder has plenty of suitors.

Kessie played every game in the league for the Rossoneri this past season, except one which he missed due to suspension. With 13 goals and six assists, he was an extremely important player for the team.

Therefore, it’s a priority for Milan to keep him and it will surely be a lot tougher now after such a good season. Speaking to TMW Radio, as cited by MilanNews, Sky journalist Luca Marchetti provided a short but clear update on the matter.

“Kessie? Milan risk losing him on a free transfer, there is no economic agreement,” the journalist stated.

Hopefully, the parties will be able to meet somewhere in the middle of the current offer and demand. Until it’s done, though, the Rossoneri fans are right to be worried especially after what happened with Calhanoglu and Donnarumma.
