Sky: Milan scrap idea of signing Ibrahimovic deputy as trust in Colombo is high

By Isak Möller -

In the friendly game against Monza, which Milan won by four goals to one, Lorenzo Colombo managed to get on the scoresheet with a lovely curling effort. A taste of what we might see from him this season.

Yes, because the youngster is expected to remain with the first team as a backup for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. According to Peppe Di Stefano of Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews.it, the Rossoneri have scrapped the idea of signing a striker.

Ibrahimovic, unless he’s injured or suspended, will always play and for this reason, a deputy won’t arrive from the transfer market. Both Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao, who usually play on the left-wing, could be a solution up front if the Swede is out.

However, as the report continues, Milan will focus a lot on Colombo. There was recently contact with his agent, who was reassured that his client won’t leave this summer. The 18-year-old has excellent physicality and could come in handy this season.

  1. Nice! Every year there should be rising young talent in our organisation! And so we don”t have to buy players, because our own junior product”s is so high leveled!

  2. Also make sure the vulture named Mino Riolia doesn’t get chance to sniff around. Best is to offer the pro contract with the clause forbidding the home grown players not to work with that nasty vulture to avoid unwanted complication in the future.
