Sky: Milan see first offer refused as Raiola’s stance on Donnarumma’s renewal is outlined

AC Milan have seen their first offer to Gianluigi Donnarumma for a new deal rejected, it is claimed, but there will be another attempt soon.

Donnarumma’s contract is set to expire in June 2021 which means the Rossoneri management face a race against time to get him to pen fresh terms otherwise they run the risk of him leaving on a free transfer.

According to Sky Italia (via TMW), the renewal negotiations are expected to properly begin next week. Milan wanted a renewal at the same salary for 3-4 years at €5.5-6m net per year, a proposal rejected by Mino Raiola.

On Thursday the player’s entourage met the club, and they made it known that they will call again next week to continue the discussions. A higher offer from Milan is therefore possible. Donnarumma wants to stay, and it is possible that Raiola could get to ask for a €7m salary, similar to that of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
